I'm hardly out on a weekend. Or at least I'll be home by 10.

Today's special. I'm watching Thor with my colleagues. And being the first to arrive, I'm now standing in a loooong line waiting to collect our tickets (not complaining). It's just.... It's been a while since I've been standing in a long line to collect tickets. I'm a freaking dinosaur...

And right behind me is this lovely kid couple talking about studying for Sejarah. And also complained about their mum calling them to go home. I'm old.

I think I'm going to eat my words when I see my colleague next week.

It all started because my hubby needed to go to Pavilion to sort out some stuff. Then dinner at Michelangelo. And one thing led to another, I was standing in front of Uniqlo @ Fahrenheit 88.

I'm eating my words because just yesterday I told my friend affirmatively that I don't like going to kl and I don't intend to go to Uniqlo in KL. I find it too demanding on myself to go to KL, what more to the busiest road in Malaysia. Uniqlo KL is right smack in the middle of all chaos. I believe I can get better buys from Uniqlo in Singapore. Anyway, I'm so serving my words with sauce...

So, when I got in there, they have my favorite wardrobe pieces, T shirts, on sale. Printed and statement tees are going for RM39.90 only. They've got really nice cropped pants going for RM39 too. Ohh, bother.

Free Moleskine

My early encounters with Moleskine in my college days left me perplexed. It's unscrupulous to charge so much for a notebook. Quaint it is not. It's probably made of very good quality paper.

And its band made a signature entrance into the world of note taking, pressuring all the other notebook makers to have it in order to keep up with the trend. And that's about it.

And I'm left perplexed, knowing that the price is improper, because I DESIRE for it so much. It's all a marketing hype to say that owning it shows that you have come. And I'm a sucker for all things post modernist.

I once spent an hour in an artshop in bangsar just to stroll and flip through the Moleskines along the aisle. And when I'm in Borders, I make it a point to check them out, hoping that for some odd reason, they'll make it affordable for me. And all my hoping is futile.

Today, I can unquestionably afford a few Moleskines. But if I ever do buy them, I have to be prepared to see my family throwing a fit at me. And if they don't, I would myself. I can never bring myself to spend close to a hundred (in RM) on something that's easily dispensable and basic. I just can't.

And I think Moleskine read my mind because they've come up with an iPad version and I downloaded it for free. <3

I was lost for words when I saw it in the App Store, thinking that this might be a lite version. But as I began to explore it, it is as good as a physical one I can hold in my hands.

This digital version allows me to choose my text size and color. And they do come in lovely hues.

I also get the option of using the ruled line, squared or plain paper. I can draw/sketch (with my fingers) or write (by tapping with my fingers too) on them.

Plus, I get to geotag my notes and post them on my social media accounts.

And all this for FREE.

This is way cooler than the Notes app that comes with iPad. I <3 Moleskine.

Bandolier

I don't know what's in your bags, but I can tell you that I will pull out some pens from mine as assuredly as the conjurer pulls the bunny out from his hat. Given the nature of my work, the pen is my weapon, my tool, my craft. But rummaging my gigantic bag for pens will make me lose half the battle (will most likely to be branded as absent minded, unprofessional and unchic)...

... until I see this simple device on uncrate - the Bandolier. It's a rubber band with 7 slots for pens, pencils, erasers or any whimsical trinkets that's only selling for USD$17. So while i wait for this to reach the shores of malaysia, I'll DIY one using the rubber bands from my skipping rope.

Oh boy, I've given up trying to explain my disappearance. My husband is right about me- I can't stay committed to any activity. I tried photography and spend thousands on it. Then I picked up lomography and realized it's harder than I thought. I wanted to pick up golf but I'm too lazy to go to the driving range. The clubs are still sitting in my storeroom. Thankfully, I'm very committed to my marriage! And will always be!

Alright, in my effort trying to stay committed, I'll make small short posts (but then again, my posts have always been short). Anyway, back to the topic.... I'M BACK BLOGGING.....

I understand the pain of shopping for the guys. But I've found the answer.

This mobile car wash is the first of its kind in Malaysia. And I'm proud to have it parked outside my house. That's because my neighbour is the owner of this project.

To have your car washed, you don't need to drive to the car wash specialists. They come to you with their truck packed with any washing gears you can imagine. They even have a water tank in it that can easily wash 20 cars at a go. Besides, their powerful blower/vacuum sucks every nook and cranny clean. I can testify to that! You don't even need to spare your water or electricity.

They charge RM15 for every car wash. And oh.. what has this to do with buying present for the men. Well, this will make a pleasant surprise for your man to see his car washed, waxed or polished and you don't even have to drive it out.

What's the best age to be?

What's the best age to be? A few years ago, I thought the older I get, the better things are going to look. I 'd have acquired more skills and experience to assess and handle what may come.

Until the death of my beloved grandmother last year then I realised that the older I get, the more deaths there'll be. I understand that death isn't the end. And that the departed is in a better place. But the thought of them not around is heart wrenching.

At the burial ground the other day, I saw my in laws crying and sniffling as the workers started piling soil onto the coffin. I then remembered that no amount of coaxing can stop them from crying. That's because nothing can replace the feeling of missing someone who has passed on.

I miss my grandma dearly. And so do I miss both my deceased grandpas and an uncle too. And unexpectedly, I will find myself welling up because I just miss them so much, especially my grandma. I know they are all at a better place, but I miss those days when grandpa tells me stories of his work in the parliament or my looking at my grandma dozing off while watching her daily favourites. I find myself bidding my grandma goodnight while looking at her picture.

I can't put it in words how I miss them except there's this tug in my heart. I know the tug remains forever. And if you find me looking into space or welling up for no reasons, know that I'm missing someone.

So what's the best age to be? It's the age of pure innocence, knowing nothing about sin and death. Going back to the time of the garden of Eden. That will be restored in His second coming. And while I wait, I can only pray for the best.

2 weddings and a funeral

Who would have expected after 2 wedding celebrations come a funeral. Since last Saturday, we have been out and about attending to our family matters.

On Saturday evening, my in laws came all the way from Ipoh to join us in celebration of my hubby's cousin's union. Then we all drove to Ipoh that same night, as on Sunday, we had another wedding celebration in the morning. My hubby's uncle was getting married.

After all the cheer and laughter. We got home on Sunday evening expecting some form of normalcy. And before we know it, we got a call on Monday at 7am. We woke up to the news of my hubby's grandpa's death.

Again, we rushed home to Ipoh. Traveling on the highway was a mix of emotions. We wanted to get home quick but at the same time, we didn't want to witness reality with our eyes. However, reality will not go away. He will always wait for us.

Cinema Paradiso

I know I should be blogging about my findings on clothes, but I was reminded today about my other passion. And this I'd like to share with you.

One of my students was playing on the synthe a portion of Cinema Paradiso's soundtrack. And it tugged my heart the moment I heard it. Then, I was reminded of my love for movies. If you don't know, I'm actually a media specialist graduate. And my love for classic movies has been overshadowed by my hectic schedule.

I remember those days when my lecturer discussed movies like Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Sunset Boulevard and the scary one.. Birds. I LOVE every bit of those discussions. And then my friend introduced me to Breakfast at Tiffany's, Cinema Paradiso and Amelie.

When I was in uni, there's a video library. I spent most days watching these videos at home or in a booth in the library. That was when I found my love for musicals like Singing in the Rain and West Side Story.

Don't worry, I'm not gonna turn this blog into a movie blog. I just wanted to reminisce. With this, I leave you with one of the most moving music. Savor it.

6/11 around 1pm while driving and listening to BFM:
I need to go to the pet shop. My glider needs stuff.

6/11 at about 1.15pm, upon hearing a news:
What? You mean there's a booksale at Atria, Damansara? Alright, change of plan, go get the glider's stuff then we'll make a stop at Atria.

6/11 at 2pm. This time I was at Stephy's house flipping the newspaper:
Oh great! Zara, Pull and Bear and Co. are having a warehouse sale at Atria too. Oh, just great. Forget pet shop. I'll go check out the booksale then the warehouse sale.

6/11, 3pm at Atria:
The booksale sucks.

6/11, 3.05pm at the warehouse sale:
Thank God it's not pack yet. And the dresses are on the left. Ok, the strategy is grab all I want first and sort later. And look for clothes that doesn't make me look fat or pregnant and clothes that doesn't make me look to young or too old. Tough, I know.

6/11, 3.07pm still at the warehouse sale:
Now, who in the world planned to put rows of dresses next to the entrace? Just great. Four dresses are hung on my left arm while my right hand searched and pulled the things I fancy.

6/11, 3.20pm:
Got to change strategy. I got to sieve the clothes. A pit stop. I found a mirror. There isn't a fitting room at all. Nevermind. Thank goodness I look 'warehouse sale' ready.

6/11, 3:30pm, still sieving the clothes:

Herbal soup

Then I took a nap, leaving the soup to boil and guess what? At about 3pm when I got down to check on it, it dried up! I have no soup to drink and I have to wash my cooker.

Sick

I just saw the doctor and I'm told that I have lymph node infection. And the doctor said that I have to rest at home for a few days to avoid stress.

But my work is NOT stressful.

His advice was to stay home and flip the newspapers and take it easy.

I feel more stressed flipping newspapers at home.

So we negotiated my MC and he agreed to give me 1 day off (usually for cases like mine, I have to take 3 days off). I consented.

Now I'm home and I have no newspapers to flip!

I am stressed.

Break

When you have a stack if work sitting on your dining room waiting to be checked and recovering from a week-long (rather 2-week long) flu and cough, you know that you won't have time to blog.

That's how I am feeling now.

It sucks when I try not to take any medication because I know I will feel woozy. But the cough is disturbing my sleep every night. That makes me groggy the next morning. Both make it difficult for me to make an attempt at my work (the one sitting on my dining room table).

So ladies, I will need to be excused for a week so that I can clear the stack on my table, to make room for dinner plates and party.

Ohhh... I'm missing blogging now...

If you know me, you'd know that my true passion isn't in clothes nor fashion. Big shocker right? And if you speak to me more, you'd know that I love bargain hunting. And if you do hang out with me, you'd know that my interest is in MONEY. Not in the money-minded nor greed manner. But I love studying 'monetary systems', finance and economics, and investments.

I find it thrilling to spot world economics trends. I enjoy watching 'Wall Street' the movie than 'The Confessions of a Shopaholic'. I read more finance/business/econs related magazines than CLEO. I buy more of Kiyosaki books and have non of Sophie Kinsella's books. That's who I am.

Well, this post isn't just about me... well it kinda... it's about the book that I've just recently bought. It's the 'Why We Want You To Be Rich' by Kiyosaki and Trump.

And what's so blogable about this book? It's the fact that I bought it at RM19.90 (as opposed to RM34.90 at MPH). This I got it from Book Warehouse at Taipan USJ (subsidiary of Big Book Shop). It's on the same row as McDs.

I've not gone through the book yet. But I'll type out the INTRODUCTION to give you an insight to this book.

I know you are trying to figure out what are those in the pictures. they are books on the ceiling and floor.
